Are you getting ready to remodel your kitchen? Kitchen remodels are a great way to make your home both more comfortable and functional.
Just think about how much time you spend in your kitchen. As part of your kitchen remodeling project, choose some features like new countertops and custom cabinetry to install that will make your kitchen a better and easier place to work in.
A Dishwasher
Does your kitchen have a dishwasher? While many kitchens do, that isn’t true of all of them. There’s no denying the convenience a dishwasher offers.
If you have a dishwasher already, consider swapping your old one out for a newer model if it’s come to the end of its life. When choosing a dishwasher, make sure it will fit in the space you have. You also need to install it near a water supply, like near your kitchen sinks. Ideally, this will also be close to where you store your dishes for easy putaway.
A Garbage Disposal
While you’re at it, add a garbage disposal or replace yours. Garbage disposals are one of those things that people don’t think about much until they stop working the way they should.
That can happen sooner rather than later if you aren’t careful about what you put in your disposal. Some foods can damage your garbage disposal if you put them down there. It’s not the dispose-all that some people seem to think it is.
A Kitchen Island
More counter and storage space rarely hurts, and a kitchen island offers both. It can also act as a serving space, a place for people to eat, and a place for socializing. Figuring out kitchen island dimensions can be a little tricky, but with careful planning (and lots of measuring), many kitchens can accommodate an island. Think about what you intend to use your kitchen island for the most. You may want the counter a bit lower if you intend to use it for baking than you might if you used it primarily for serving food or socializing. Remember to add an overhang if you intend your island to accommodate seating.
So many good memories are made in the kitchen. Few things bring people together the way food does, after all, and few things are more rewarding than sitting down with family and friends and watching them enjoy the delicious meal you prepared. Before you remodel your kitchen, think about what features you could add to make things easier for yourself. Limitless Renovations will recommend kitchen features that fit your home and lifestyle. That way you can enjoy your time in the kitchen even more than you already do.
