The Next Big Thing in Horror Online
Toxic Eagle Studios company owner Dalton Stout recently announced that the film studio has plans in the making to introduce the first ever online streaming horror film channel. Similar to networks like Netflix, Hulu and Crackle, the new channel will be named SPOOKd and they are working hard to have the new network up and running by the Halloween season. Stout says that the network plans to launch horror films including full length movies as well as web series and television shows from independent film makers rather than mainstream box office movies or shows.
The studio has already pre-ordered 9 feature films to help kick off the SPOOKd network for the 2016-2017 season. Toxic Eagle Studios company president stated that he knew 9 films was a lot, but that he was very excited to see the company heading in a new direction for the upcoming film season. They expect to begin filming this summer for the fall season and have plans to do quite a few shoots in the Tri-Cities area of Tennessee. The Tri-Cities include Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee as well as several smaller communities in between. This works well for the Tennessee based company and will tentatively bring close to 100 jobs for local movie buffs. The studio will be looking for actors and actresses with varied degrees of experience as well as a wide variety in age, sex and ethnicity.
Stout was recently working on the new web thriller, The Keeping. The four-part series halted production several months ago due to scheduling conflicts with filming. The film is based on a small town in Illinois that has been affected in a horrifying way by a local tragedy. Production on The Keeping is set to start up again soon and Stout has promised a full release on October 10, 2016. The films coordinating producer, Michael Rene, has stated that The Keeping is scary, edgy and psychological and one that horror buffs will definitely not want to miss.
Toxic Eagle Studios has released several horror films including the web series Them, starring actors Dylan Crisp, Wendy Overman and Corey Hughes. Be sure to keep your eyes open for SPOOKd as well as many more up and coming horror productions from Toxic Eagle Studios.
